NV22 Dragon upgrade
Forest joins Lotus and Venus in supporting the NV22 upgrade. See the post for details regarding the upgrade. To keep Forest nodes running, the operators must upgrade Forest to supporting versions, as outlined in the timeline.
Timeline
timeline title NV22 Forest timeline March 8th : Forest v0.17.0 "Smaug" release, supporting NV22 for calibnet March 11th : Calibration network upgrade March 28th : Forest release, supporting NV22 for mainnet and calibration network fix April 3rd : Calibration network fix April 24th : Mainnet network upgradeThe timeline is subject to changes, and there will likely be non-mandatory releases. Depending on external factors, the mainnet release will likely arrive faster to give plenty of time for an update.
Hardware requirements
The state migration for this upgrade is significant, and users should prepare for it accordingly:
calibnet, the requirements don't change - no action is required. The migration takes below one second.mainnet, the state migration requires at least 64 GiB of memory. It will take 2-10 minutes, mostly depending on the available memory and disk write/read speed. If possible, prune the database a day before to ensure better DB write/read performance. An alternative to the automatic state migration is downloading a snapshot from the ChainSafe snapshot service sometime after the upgrade (30m - 2h).
