After June update the Monthly usage is finishing in a day. If this isn't the glitch and credits aren't refunded, then it's the end for copilot usage. Absolute robbery. |

As of June 1, 2026: Usage-based billing for GitHub Copilot is now live for all users and Copilot code review consumes GitHub Actions minutes, in addition to GitHub AI Credits. As part of this release, we're also launching new user-level budget controls, expanded context windows, and enabling upgrades to Copilot Max. ⭐ For the most up-to-date information, we have provided more details and a FAQ in this discussion. As newer information is available, some details in this discussion may no longer be current. I will quit when my credit ends (lasted only two days) and will migrate to cursor or claude or windsurf. |

Cancelled as well after a shock a I received today. The usage that normally lasted a couple weeks was spent in a couple hours of work. This is just ridiculous. Good luck finding users stupid enough to keep using this scam. |

Not that anyone in GitHub gives half a flying duck, but this pretty much does it for me too. Until last month I never even reached 50% of the credits. Some months I was like at 30%. Now I went to 75% after three sessions. Literally 3 sessions. F that noise and f Copilot, this is disgusting. |

Same here, i used a model caerfully with a x1 multiplicator, 2h later it was up to x6 multiplication for no reason i juste lost all of my credits with that. It is juste inaceptable to reduce that hight the services.... I am really desapointed |

This is not pay for what you use. It's "let's thieve from our users" by playing middleman, doubling or tripling the price of the models, and taking the remainder after cost. I will also be finding a new solution. This is nonsense. |

Pure scam. Up to last month I usually spent 60% of my plan. Now after 2 days I am at 70% whit a 0.33 (Haiku) Model and nearly all features deactivated. What is this Joke?? I payed for this. Will cancel my subscription and hope everybody else will do the same. Classic Microsoft move. |

I've been a GitHub Copilot subscriber since the early days and genuinely advocated for it within my team. So it pains me to write this. The new quota system is simply broken. Exhausting the daily limit before noon is not an edge case — it's my daily reality. When a tool you depend on for your workflow becomes unreliable by design, it stops being a productivity tool and starts being a liability. I understand the need to manage infrastructure costs, but capping completions to the point where paying users hit walls mid-workday feels like a bait-and-switch. We signed up for an AI coding assistant, not a rationed service. Either the quotas need to be significantly raised, usage needs to roll over properly, or the pricing tiers need to reflect what's actually being delivered. Right now, they don't. Long-time supporter, genuinely disappointed. |

My Copilot usage cycle resets on the 1st of each month, and like many others, all my credits were gone within just two days, so I decided to cancel. I then noticed that my payment is actually taken on the 18th of each month, and today is the 19th, so I tried to request a refund for the upcoming month. The request was rejected, which makes no sense given the timing. I am looking for an alternative to Copilot Pro and possibly even VS Code. If anyone has suggestions or tools they have moved to and actually liked, I would really appreciate hearing about them. |

Copilot in GitHub
Body
The plans and pricing that were introduced recently, along with the new credit system for using GitHub Copilot in chat or in the IDE, feel like a complete joke.
Last month I barely used 20–30% of my PRO+ plan, and now the entire quota is gone in just two days on the exact same plan.
It’s ridiculous and feels like a total scam. Why do I call it a scam? Because half of all my credits were wasted due to Copilot freezing, generating things completely unrelated to my request, and overall behaving in a way that seems intentionally designed to drain user tokens compared to the previous month.
Good luck to the company with these new plans this will definitely help other companies take a huge part of the market, because I’m clearly not the only one who feels this way. I literally checked the forum five minutes ago.
My plan will be cancelled 100%, so I have one question: what alternatives do you recommend?
