I'm disabled with what I presume to be long-covid, but I can't be sure because all of the tests I've taken (labs, pulmonology, cardiology) have shown my body to be healthy. But I haven't been able to hold a job since early 2023, and had debilitating symptoms showing up in July of 2022.
Even my hobbies---Live streams, YouTube---don't make me enough money to pay for basic needs at the moment, but I hope to grow enough one day where that isn't a problem!.
For now, I'm doing my best to make content I can be proud of.
For a while I could meet all of my necessities like gas and groceries no problem, thanks to support from my family, but with the way the economy is going, and interest increasing on my credit cards that I maxed out because of the medical tests I had taken, I worry it's going to get to the point where my family is going to lose out because they need to support me.
That's why I'm launching this fundraiser. I want to lift some of if not all of the load away from my family and use this money to pay off my credit cards, my hospital bills, and to be able to purchase necessities without needing to worry every week. That being said I do at least have food stamps now! I've been waiting since September of 2024 for SSI, and now I'm working with a lawyer through the LONG process of appealing my denial for benefits.
I also want to support my creative endeavors, so I can hire and commission others to make up for the things I don't have the time and energy for, like editing, voiceover, and I'd love to get some of my writing animated one day.
It's a dream of mine to create opportunities for creatives to express themselves and make a living from their art, but with the situation I'm in right now, it really looks like that will never happen.
So unless the government gets their act together and starts giving a shit about disabled people, I have no other options right now for immediate financial aid but to put the option out there for those with money to spare to support me.
My goal could change in the future, but for now I think $10k would allow me to pay off my credit cards, hospital bills, and be a good start to allow me to begin saving up again, and to have something for emergencies.
