Hole is an american alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles by Courtney Love (singer, guitarrist) and Eric Erlandson (guitarrist) in 1989. During its time, the band had diverse different formations, the most known with the drummer Patty Schemel and the bassists Kristen Pfaff (passed away in 1994) and Melissa Auf der Maur.
The band, in the indie scene of Los Angeles, launched singles in the indepedent recorders Sympathy For Record Industry and Sub Pop before collaborating with Kim Gordon on their release album, Pretty on the Inside (1991). After signing up with Geffen Records in 1993, Hole launched Live Through This (1994), claimed by critics album and best-seller, as so the notorious Celebrity Skin (1998), whcih gave the band 4 Grammy nominations. The group officially ended in 2002. In 2009, the band was reformed by Courtney Love and other new members, and launched the album Nobody's Daughter (2010), before again reaching to its end in late 2012. In December 2013, Courtney Love and Eric Erlandson announced to be on good terms, and since then, rumors suggetsed the band is getting back. In February 2014, Courtney Love announced a reunitement of the classic formation is being planned.
