Yes Mischief Castle is the first game I made for the NES. I also made Train! Train! and Knight on the Moon. For this game I was inspired by games like Joust, and Balloon fight, but a lot of the gameplay is inspired by Killer Queen Arcade, which is an amazing arcade game. I felt like we needed a NES version. So it plays similar to that but with design changes to make it fit the NES. This is very much a homage to that game.

so I expect to have the digital released then. Cartridge will take some time since I manufacture them myself and I’m sourcing supplies. There should not be compatibility issues with this game since it’s using mapper2. My recommendation for a console is one that  has the 4score built in like the AVS and analogue. And also that it has the famicom expansion port. Which is where player 5 and 6 connect. 

keep an eye out, I working on a beta/release candidate that I'm looking to make available soon, maybe in May.

thank you! I find making the music challenging, but I like making it

I assume, that you probably found some secrets too.

other user has reported to me and I check the most recent version on virus total and its being flagged as malware, just thought id bring it to your attention.

a physical copy is definitely in the works.

the enemies are supposed to get hurt and die not sure why that happened. Will look into it

I removed scrolling entirely to gain more available memory, so if i do smooth flip edge scrolling it would animate to a blank tile or black then load the new screen after. so it wont look like how Zelda does it. It wont be able to show the new screen until after the animation transition is done. I can experiment how it will look maybe it might be ok.

it’s in the works. I’m in the process of getting boards made. So it’s is happening 

I really enjoyed playing this game. It written well and very enjoyable to play though multiple times. I also think having the rom hacks for different glyphs was a great idea.  Nice work and I can't wait to see more games from you guys!

yes at some point I was planning on updating it. It just kind fell to the wayside. Will probably be up soon 

btw, I'd like to mention that I did take these recommendations into account and it did improve the gameplay a lot. Thank You!

it seems the textboxes will write back the old tiles states to the screen. ill have to investigate more on this issue for a good solution. In the meantime I modified some areas to avoid this from happening all together. the new version should be up with these changes.

Yes there will be a physical release. I'm planning on it. The digital will be released first.

for sure! RoboWarrior/BomberKing was my initial inspiration, the Bomberman box art was the inspiration for my box art. some of the bosses are inspired by Contra, Gameplay is Zelda and Metroid inspired.  

yeah, I'm definitely working on a good balance, I do think there should be a good reason to fight enemies over blasting blocks. in my latest revisions there are much less blocks, but i will test out having the blocks spawn less items or none and enemies dropping more.

thank you, I wanted the game to look similar to the later year NES games.
