I really like the new "Magnum P.I." I was a fan of the original series, and was fully prepared to hate this one, but I can't. There are plenty of little nuggets from the old one in the dialogue, and the new cast(especially Higgins) are great. Well worth a look, even if you didn't watch the original.

One of my new, high-zoot hearing aids crapped out and had to be sent in for repair. Fortunately it's under warranty and won't cost anything. One new aid and one old one makes for an interesting hearing experience. But since there is little worth hearing nowadays it doesn't much matter.

I am shopping for a new dentist, as my old one is edging into retirement and has funky hours. He also does not do extractions anymore, and I have at least one that needs to go. I'd try and do it myself, but I'm afraid I'd break it and make things worse. My fingers aren't strong enough to do it anymore and pliers just seems like asking for it.

I made a cheesecake today, and it should be cured by the weekend. Feel free to show up, it's actually several degrees cooler than Hell of late.

The new Attorney General had meetings with Russian officials during the campaign and then lied about it under oath. The link goes to a petition calling for his resignation.

There seems to be credible evidence that not only is the robbery story a fabrication, but that he, or someone/someones with him vandalized property.

If this is proven, the USOC should strip him of any medals from this Olympics, and the US should extradite him to Brazil, if they even want him there.

This is a picture of Elmo's couch. He's ancient, and he's Elmo, so he gets his own couch. The structure on the right is his sanctum, with his rooftop bistro for dining.



We keep a heated pad in there as he is mighty lean and has arthritis, and it eases his joints. That is where he sleeps and spends most of his time. Until last Thursday.

The soft purple cloth to the left is there as a draft block/privacy screen. It's just thin purple flannel, no heated pad.

Since Thursday, regardless of the temperature in the house, (A/C time here) he has been sleeping under that. That lump there is him.

One of my few readers on FFN took the trouble to contact me in regard to a fanfiction contest for either "Firefly" or "Con Man" being held by Alan Tudyk on Inkitt. The winner gets a video of Tudyk, ("Wash" on "Firefly") reading the thing.

The story this reader had in mind was "Time and Space", which is a Firefly/HP crossover that I wrote for "Hermione Smut" one year. It's not very smutty though.
