I love Romcoms❤️, Madonna🎤& Guy Ritchie movies👊🏻. How did this go so badly wrong?💀 Seriously, fuck this movie😡! It's worse than I ever could have imagined.
A romcom with no rom or com💔. Just 2 abusive pieces of shit👿 who psychologically abuse & physically assault each other the whole movie.🤦♀️
The big romantic turning point in this is an onscreen scene where the male lead beats Madonna, pins her down and sexually assaults her on the beach🤢. This apparently makes her finally fall in love with him.😬
A horrible disgusting movie🖕🏻. Everyone involved in this needs to have their head examined. It’s possibly just become my least favorite movie of all time.💩💩💩
I really love you Guy Ritchie, I do.... so let's just pretend like this didn't happen, okay?
Action! - A British Romp: Action Guy and The Ritchie Binders
I’d say everyone on this movie should go to f---king hell, but something tells me even Satan would be like “OHHH HEEEEEEEELLLL NAWWWW!!!!”
I've been hearing about how what a God awful this movie was ever since it came out, but the optimist in me wanted to believe that the critics were being excessively harsh. But no. Actually, I think it's even worse than that.
Now, Ritchie tries to infuse the film with lots of the sly and slapstick, almost screwball humour of yore, notably that of comedies in which the main characters can't stand each other, while also making some kind of critique of capitalism or something. The…
This cannot be made by the same man that made Snatch I refuse to believe that. Mr. Ritchie, what the fuck.
Madonna should've divorced Guy Ritchie on the spot for even suggesting this movie
Remember ladies
if he rapes you
he's the one
(that comment is 100% sarcastic
this movie is actually just disgusting
it is repulsive to watch
& fully just shits on rape survivors (that probably wasn't the intentions of Guy Richie but that's what I got from the film)
& if you are a rape survivor
one I'm so sorry that that happened to you
& two don't ever watch this movie
this will just bring you to a dark place
truly just one of the worst films I have ever seen
never watch this
I don't even think it's worth watching even so you can say that you’ve seen every Guy Richie movie
I genuinely regret watching this)
Not really as terrible as legend would have it, just toothless and totally unnecessary. Madonna and Giannini Jr don't have the ferocious anti-chemistry that the original's couple did, and contemporary sensibilities ensure that this can't possibly reach that film's dubious, deeply uncomfortable gender and social politics (although it's weird to see the director so seemingly invested in seeing his wife get slapped around while she's depicted as the ultimate harridan). Ritchie's a very successful empty stylist, and he's unable to render Wertmüller's hypothetical primal utopia as something appropriately and dangerously erotic; instead it's a gleaming magazine ad.
Unlike his name in the poster, Guy Ritchie's director credit to this movie will not go away during high tide
Development Meeting transcription:
"I think we should remake that critically acclaimed Italian film from the early Seventies."
"I don't know... Times have changed. It might not work."
"Too late. Already bought the rights. Already started on the plot with the screenwriter too."
"Any good?"
"Yeah, it's coming together pretty well. We start on a vintage boat with some rich couples, one of whom is a complete bitch. We've got Madonna attached for that."
"Madonna."
"Yeah, well Guy Ritchie's directing..."
"Guy Ritchie? I know we agreed to do a film with him but this? Isn't this a romcom?"
"Yep. He's really passionate about it! He's the writer I just mentioned. So anyway... She's a bitch for no reason. A complete bitch.…
"You're completely taking advantage of me!"
"Of course I am. I am the master!"
Spoiled socialite Amber Leighton (Madonna) and her husband Tony (Bruce Greenwood) are on a private cruise through the Mediterranean, and Amber immediately antagonizes Giuseppe Esposito (Adriano Giannini), a deckhand on the ship. Then, however, Amber and Giuseppe end up stranded on a deserted island together and their roles get reversed ...
Swept Away is a romantic comedy adventure film written and directed by Guy Ritchie, a remake of Travolti da un insolito destino nell'azzurro mare d'agosto.
Ritchie's movie was universally panned by critics, became a box office bomb and swept away the Golden Raspberry Awards, winning five, among them Worst Picture - and I can't say…
