In Their Shoes: Annual Fundraiser Info
In Their Shoes: Annual Fundraiser Info
This two-mile walk around COAC offers a powerful, family-friendly way to experience the challenges our neighbors face while raising vital funds for their path forward. Led by the dedicated staff of the Central Outreach and Advocacy Center, the walk guides participants through meaningful stops along the route—including a visit to the nearby Department of Driver Services, where so many of our guests begin their journey toward stability by securing a state ID or driver’s license. Together, we’ll step through the realities our neighbors navigate each day and learn how essential services, advocacy, and community support open doors to hope and opportunity.

Sandwich Service Project
Sandwich Service Project
We would love for you to sign up, make, and deliver sandwiches for our guests. The sandwiches can be meat and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, chicken salad, egg salad, or whatever sandwich you'd like to make. Please make sure that all sandwiches are individually packaged in a zippered bag. We would prefer no wax bags or fold over plastic bags. If you want to also provide chips, a piece of fruit and a bottle of water that's awesome, but not required. In order to respect dietary restrictions, please let us know if sandwiches contain pork. Each sandwich does not need to be labeled but it is certainly helpful. We have a few tips (not requirements) if you have never made sandwiches in mass quantity. It is best to use 2 parts peanut butter to 1 part jelly and mix it together. For meat and cheese sandwiches, 1 slice of cheese and 2.5 ounces of meat work very well. Email Kimberly Parker, kparker@centraloac.org for any questions.
