The Data for Development in Nepal (D4D) programme aims to improve the sharing and use of (open) data as evidence for development. The Asia Foundation implements the programme with support from UK Aid and in partnership with Development Initiative. The program supports government and non-government stakeholders who have the knowledge and capabilities to demand, produce, and use data for evidence-based decision-making that addresses local development challenges. Through this, the D4D program works to strengthen a functional, inclusive, and locally led data ecosystem in Nepal. D4D provides diverse support in strengthening the local data ecosystem such as knowledge and capacity development of stakeholders, system development, facilitation of multi-stakeholder coordination, and resource development for data uses, among others.
