What is the City Nature Challenge?

The CNC is an annual, four-day global bioblitz at the end of April. In Northern KY, we're using the iNaturalist platform to observe nature as a community! Last year, 3,310,131 observations were made worldwide! Learn more at https://www.citynaturechallenge.org/.

How do I participate in the City Nature Challenge?

In Northern KY, we're using the iNaturalist platform to upload nature observations. You can download the app onto your device or use the browser version. Between April 24-27, 2026, when you upload a picture on iNaturalist, it will automatically upload into the CNC project for your county, called "City Nature Challenge 2026: _____ County." You can also attend any of the events under the Events tab! We will be happy to help you get started with iNaturalist!
