L. Sole is a poet, photographer, and multidisciplinary artist dedicated to the alchemy of turning heartbreak into high art. Through her debut manuscript and project, Leah’s Flowers: A Boudoir Self-Portrait Manifesto, she documents the breaking of problematic cycles and the reclamation of autonomy—a manifesto born from the beautiful, messy journey of finally bringing her own needs home. ​Blending the raw confession of poetry with the visual intimacy of boudoir, Sole explores the "native tongue of yearning" for those ready to stop burning for others and start becoming their own fire. Based in Detroit, MI, her photography work of the city’s urban landscape is currently featured at the Open Space Gallery through April 18th in the exhibition titled BWWC (Black Women with Cameras) and their forthcoming book. ​Her recent and upcoming accolades include poetry featured in Vantage Magazine (May 2026) and the ongoing development of her multidisciplinary self-portrait series.
