About me
I'm a Marine and Aquaculture Scientist based at James Cook University (JCU) since 2015. My work focuses on developing practical, innovative solutions for the domestication and cultivation of tropical seaweeds in Australia.
My expertise lies at the intersection of applied phycology, aquaculture, and biotechnology. This includes work in innovative algal strain selection, genetic resource management, and the development of robust cultivation protocols. I aim to support a thriving, sustainable tropical aquaculture industry through my research and strong collaborative efforts.
I am currently undertaking a part-time PhD that leverages genomic tools to identify and select superior strains of the economically and environmentally significant red seaweed, Asparagopsis taxiformis.
