Hello, I´m Diamond Washington. I am a native of the Bronx, New York. Growing up in the city, the community had a major impact on my upbringing. I was always involved in my church, as well as hosting social gatherings for friends and the youth. What called me to birth work, you may ask? During my undergraduate studies, I had the pleasure of interning with a midwife and witnessing my first birth. This experience, along with the birth stories of close friends and family, compelled me to research how I can best advocate for birthing people. There, the idea of Haven of Jade was born. The mission of Haven of Jade Doula Services is to uplift birthing people of color as they enter a significant chapter in their lives. Through a holistic approach, Haven of Jade prioritizes advocacy by pursuing the best interests of clients while ensuring a safe and supported birth experience for their babies, with respect and integrity as core values.
