Diarra, a 14‑year‑old from Ziguinchor, used to feel isolated due to chronic asthma and frequent absences from school. After joining a basketball club supported by Right To Play’s RECAF‑Jeu project, she grew in confidence, built friendships, and developed strong leadership skills. She went on to become President of the Young Girls Leaders of Ziguinchor and now serves as Vice‑President of the Children’s Communal Council. Sport empowered her to find her voice — and use it to advocate for girls’ rights and equality.

With his teachers encouragement, Peter began to catch up on his studies and gain confidence. The inclusive, engaging activities allowed Peter to improve academically and physically, building friendships along the way. His story shows how small changes can make a big difference in a child's life.
