The people representing us must listen to their constituents fighting for a livable future and take action, not sit and wait for the climate crisis to continue to get worse. We’re calling on the Burlington City Council to champion a Green New Deal for our community so that our people - no matter of zip code or the color of their skin - can live in a world where clean air, clean water, healthy food, and adequate health care, housing, transportation, and education is a priority. We call on the Burlington City Council to commit to implementing Green New Deal policies that: Make sure the City of Burlington is safe enough to withstand climate disasters, There is clean air, water, and access to green space for all, Affordable and accessible housing, public transit, and health care, and Rapid elimination of carbon pollution, all in a manner that creates good union jobs for all and prioritizes those most marginalized and disproportionately affected by the climate crisis.
