"Wakademy" Youth Leadership Program
"Wakademy" Youth Leadership Program
The Galactic Tribe begins a new year of our Wakanda Alliance Academy aka "Wakademy" program! We are looking for students between ages 14 and 19 to work with us in a powerful after-school program. Afrofuturism incorporates a number of subjects including science, media, art, music, entrepreneurship, reading, mental and physical wellness, and much more! You will learn and practice various skills to apply both to our workshops and your personal interests! The program starts October and will run until Spring 2024. The program will meet Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4 p.m.-6 p.m., and two Saturdays a month from 12 p.m.- 3 p.m. Members will be paid a stipend for their time. If you are interested in learning and growing your skills, fill out this form and we will get back to you for an interview! Thank you for your time! Wakanda may be a fictional place, but the African utopia has always been inspired by very real, diverse, and beautiful people. This is a reoccurring objective throughout the genre of Afro Futurism - an overlooked yet ever-present style of creativity. The Wakanda Alliance aims to prepare the minds of our audiences to seek and observe the underlying histories within the context of comic books. Together, we are able to see how the knowledge of the past and the vision of tomorrow is bridged by the efforts in the present! The Wakanda Alliance Program was created by THE GALACTIC TRIBE, a team of futurists dedicated to building the future with the future.
