Grand Bend setting

When I sent in my profile, I mentioned a few places and didn't describe them because of space constraints. Well, Here they are!

Avalon Phantasy Phaire

The Local Ren Fest, The APP had been in business since 1986 and is open from May to July. They take a less historical tilt than most Ren Fests, with the theme being Fairies and Mythical Beasts. The Rulers are King Oberon and Queen Titania as well as their two daughters, Una and Gloriana. Various Fairy Tale characters cavort through the fair's five sectors. Four of the sectors are situated in a circle surrounding "The Sapphire Sea" (a man made lake) with the fifth sector on an island in the middle. It's all very fluffy and cute, bordering schmaltz.

Places of Note:

--Pirate Bay= Boat tours of the Sapphire Sea start here. This is also where the Mermaids, the Water Sprites and Nehallenia, The Pirate Queen, show up to mingle with guests.

--Lover's Lane= A quiet little maze-like nook, with hidden benches and crannies for hidden kissing and cuddling. There is a tiny forest chapel at the end where weddings, handfastings and renewals of vows can be held.

--Rapunzel's Tower= A jungle gym area for the weesters, with "The Real Thing" not far off.

Schwartzgeist Manor

The Haunted House, open from the last weekend in September to the first weekend in November. They have a sort of Blair Witch story going (Evil in the settling of the area, dissapearances over the years, etc.) Halloween night, they have a rock festival on the site. Security is provided by the site's "Guild of St. Van Helsing" (actors who have a Vampire Hunter persona and can keep things under control). They try to keep things on the tasteful side of gore but have one or two gruesome displays.

The Guild of St. Van Helsing takes apprentices at 16 (15 with a parent-signed waiver) and can become official at 18. The apprentices tend to do the kid stuff jobs, like ticket checks, and helping lost kids find parents. They have to keep their grades up and stay out of trouble on the side of the law and their parents.

Mt. Olympus

The Theme Park, based on Greek Mythology, open from late March to late October. By Greek Mythology, we mean Hercules/Xena power hour Mythology. Actors portray Gods, Goddesses and Heroes of Greek Myths. There's a dinner show that's supposed to look like a gladiator fight between Heroes with Zeus and Hera watching and calling the shots.

Places of Note:

--Titan's Challenge= The Rock Climbing Wall and Obstacle Course Area.

--The Grove of Artemis= Picnic Area where people go to hang out and eat.

--Aphrodite's Magic River= An updated Tunnel of Love. Dim lighting and soft music.

--Poseidon's Rage= The landmark for the Water Park area, A water ride/rollercoaster.
