まず、そろばんの頭の数「8」とわる数の頭の数「8」をみてください。

First, look at the first digit of the dividend (8) and the divisor (8).

そろばんの数の方がわる数よりも小さいので、「九立商」を使いましょう！

Since the abacus number is smaller than the divisor, let’s use “Kyūrisshō”!

次は、残っているそろばんの頭の数「8」とわる数の頭の数「8」をみてください。

Next, look at the remaining first digit on the abacus (8) and the first digit of the divisor (8).

そろばんの数とわる数が同じときは、「九立商」は使わないんでしたよね！

When the abacus number and the divisor are the same, we don’t use “Kyūrisshō,” right?
