Negative calculations first appear in Abacus Level 2.
They show up in only 1 out of 10 problems, but it's good to master the method.

①マイナス計算の答えの書き方 -How to Write Negative Answers-

②マイナス計算を実践 -Practicing Negative Calculations-

マイナス計算の問題は、途中で引けなくなりますが、引けると思って計算していけば良いだけです。

その代わりに、（言葉だとむずかしくなりますが、1億借りてきて計算するので、）最後の答えをマイナスにする、ということになります。

In negative calculations, you may get stuck, but just keep calculating as if you can subtract.
Instead, think of it as “borrowing 100 million,” and make the final answer negative.
