Sensing Vandal’s deep inner turmoil, Rumble kept a watchful distance, training himself to his absolute limits. At the same time, together with Doc and Pixie, he was developing the "Ignis Breaker"—a weapon engineered to repel Beast’s brutal electric shocks and Buster’s scorching heatwaves.
ランブルもヴァンダルの苦悩を察し、遠くから見守り、自分にできる最大限のトレーニングを積んでいた。と同時に、ドックやピクシーを交えながら、ビーストの強烈な電撃やバスターの熱波を跳ね除ける「イグニスブレイカー」を開発していた。

Inside Doc’s laboratory, a cold, unfeeling hologram modeling the blade of the Ignis Breaker projected into the air. The lightning-strike data Pixie had gathered from Beast’s attacks bled across its surface in vibrant crimson, and warning alerts sliced through the silence of the room.
ドックのラボ。ホログラムスクリーンには、イグニスブレイカーの刃を模した無機質なホログラムが浮かび上がっている。ピクシーが現場で収集したビーストの電撃データがその表面を真っ赤に侵食し、警告のアラートがラボの静寂を切り裂いていた。

"I'm telling you, unless we reinforce the core structure, it'll never withstand Beast's electrical surges! With a blade geometry like this, the energy will concentrate in one spot and shatter the whole thing!"
「だから、構造自体を強化しなきゃ、ビーストの電撃には耐えきれないって言ってるでしょ！ この刃の形状じゃ、エネルギーが一点に集中して砕けるわ！」

Pixie’s rapid-fire protest was met only with Doc’s quiet voice, his eyes never leaving his work.
ピクシーのまくしたてるような声に、ドックは視線を落としたまま静かに応じる。

"...No. It isn't a lack of raw output."
「……いや、足りないのは出力ではない」

Doc accessed the deepest sector of the database inherited from the Professor, bringing up a single complex waveform. It was a unique algorithm designed to neutralize enemy attacks.
ドックは教授から引き継いだチップのデータベースの最深部を呼び出し、一つの複雑な波形データを取り出した。それは「敵の攻撃を打ち消す」独自のアルゴリズムだった。

"I call this the 'Wave.' Pixie, take your honeycomb matrix and map it directly onto the surface of the axe blade following this 'Wave' algorithm."
「私はこれを『波』と呼んでいる。ピクシー、君の設計したハニカム・マトリックスを、この『波』のアルゴリズムに沿って斧の刃の表面にマッピングさせるんだ」

Pixie’s fingertips danced across the console in a flash of movement. As Doc’s engraved mark for 'Wave' integrated into the Ignis Breaker, high-output lasers etched new control lines into the face of the blade.

"Mapping complete! ...Alright, this is where it gets real. I'm synchronizing Rumble’s main core directly with the axe’s control unit!"
「マッピング完了！……いい、ここからが本番よ。ランブルのメインコアと、斧の制御ユニットを完全に同期させるわ！」

Rumble took a silent step forward, his grip tightening hard around the handle of the Ignis Breaker.
ランブルが静かに一歩踏み出し、イグニスブレイカーの柄を力強く握りしめる。

In that exact moment, the 'Wave' mark carved into Rumble’s chest flashed with a cyan light, beginning a heavy, deep pulsation. In perfect rhythm with that pulse, the lines etched into the axe blade ignited with brilliance. Chest and weapon—the two 'Wave' markings flared in violent, resonant harmony. その瞬間、ランブルの胸部にある『波』の刻印がシアンの光を放ち、重い脈動を始めた。その脈動とまったく同じタイミングで、斧の刃に刻まれたラインが鮮やかに輝く。胸と斧、二つの『波』が共鳴するように激しい明滅を繰り返した。

"...Synchronization confirmed. But remember, this is just idling. Doc, spin up the simulator. Take us straight to ninety percent max load!"
「……同期はした。でも、これはあくまでアイドリング状態よ。ドック、シミュレーターを回して。最大出力の９０％まで一気にかけるわよ！」

At Doc’s signal, a searing heatwave capable of distorting the air itself hammered against the Ignis Breaker directly from the lab’s emitters. The instant it hit, the 'Wave' marking on the blade turned brilliant scarlet, showering the room in fierce sparks. The thick muscles in Rumble’s arms visibly quivered from the recoil.
ドックの合図と共に、ラボの壁から『空気を歪ませるほどの熱波』がイグニスブレイカーへと叩きつけられた。接触した瞬間、斧の刃の『波』が鮮紅に変色し、激しい火花を散らす。ランブルの太い腕の筋肉が、その反動で目に見えて震えた。

"...Thermal conductivity is off the charts! Compensation parameters can't keep up—the structure won't hold!"
「……熱伝導が速すぎる！ 補正が追いついてないわ、構造体が持たない！」

"...Not yet! Hit it with the lightning! I’m not quitting on a half-assed test!" 「……まだだ、次は電撃だ！ 中途半端なテストで諦めるのはイヤだ！」

As if answering Rumble’s guttural shout, a bolt of pale blue electricity struck the axe head-on. White light engulfed the entire laboratory, and the markings on both his chest and the weapon began to flicker erratically.
ランブルの呻くような叫びに応じるように、蒼白い電撃が斧を直撃する。ラボ全体が白光に包まれ、胸と斧の刻印が狂ったように点滅し始めた。

"No! Sync is collapsing...! Rumble, let go of the axe!"
「だめ、同期が外れる……！ ランブル、斧を放して！」

"Like hell I will...! What I'm holding onto... is my bloody soul!"
「離すかよ……！ つかんでいでるのは、俺の魂だッ！」

Rumble forced his grip to tighten around the axe. The erratic, runaway flickering instantly settled, shifting after a heartbeat of quiet into a deep, heavy rhythm. The raging electricity was drawn into the blade, coalescing before flowing smoothly into the mark on his chest.
ランブルが無理やり斧を握り込むと、暴走気味だった明滅が、一瞬の静寂のあとに深く重い周期へと変化した。荒れ狂っていた電撃は斧に吸い込まれるように収束し、そこから胸の刻印へと滑らかに流れ始める。

"...It vanished! The energy feedback stopped—it’s entered full circulation! It’s bypassing the external surge into its own circuitry... converting it straight into its own power!"
「……消えた！エネルギーの逆流が止まって、完全に循環に入ったわ。外部エネルギーを自身の回路へバイパスして……自分自身のエネルギーに変換しているんだわ」

Catching his ragged breath, Rumble stared quietly at the axe glowing with a steady, powerful light.
荒い息をつきながら、ランブルは静かに、しかし力強く輝く斧を見つめた。

"...I feel it. The noise is gone. With this, their electricity won't tear us apart anymore."
「……感じるぜ。ノイズが消えた。これなら、あいつらの電撃にも負けないな」

"Test complete. Initiate system cooldown and draft the final programming for each unit. ...Pixie, before you disconnect Rumble from the network, fine-tune the energy conversion efficiency."
「テスト終了だ。システムを冷却し、各ユニットの最終プログラムを組む。……ピクシー、ランブルをシステムから切断する前に、変換効率の微調整を頼む」

At Doc’s instruction, the suffocating tension that had gripped the room slowly dissolved. Pixie turned back to her terminal. Rumble leaned the Ignis Breaker against the workbench and casually rubbed his heat-soaked arm.
ドックの声で、ラボを包んでいた極限の緊張が少しずつ解けていく。ピクシーは、再びキーボードに向き直った。ランブルはイグニスブレイカーを作業台に立てかけ、熱を帯びた腕を無造作にさすった。

"...Sorry to trouble you, but make it fast. We can't keep Vandal and the others waiting forever. ...Besides, I’ve got this terrible feeling in my gut." 「……悪いが、調整を頼んだよ。いつまでもヴァンダルたちを待たせておくわけにはいかない。……それに、何だか胸騒ぎがするんだ」

Rather than feeling satisfied by the immense power he had just gained, Rumble was driven by an indescribable sense of foreboding.
ランブルは強力な力を手に入れた充足感よりも、言いようのない焦燥感に突き動かされていた。

"I get it. ...But what's the rush? Vandal’s the one most terrified of seeing you break, you know."
「わかっているわよ。……でも、そんなに焦ってどうするの。ヴァンダルだって、あんたが壊れるのを一番怖がっているんだから」

Pixie offered her sharp warning in a slightly detached tone, though her genuine worry came through clearly. But Rumble let the words slip past him, walking quietly toward the hatch.
ピクシーが少し冷めた口調で、しかし確かな心配を込めて釘を刺す。だが、ランブルはその言葉を受け流し、静かにハッチへと向かった。

"...I know. I'm going to get some air."
「……わかってる。少し、外の空気を吸ってくる」

Rumble vanished through the hatch leading to the observation deck—where he could be alone—away from the briefing room where his companions waited. Behind him, the faint, icy light of the 'Wave' mark on his back remained, glowing silently on his still-heated frame.
ランブルは、仲間たちが待つ作戦室とは逆の方向、一人になれる観測デッキへと続くハッチへと消えた。その背中には、まだ完全に熱の引かない『波』の淡い光が、冷たく、静かに宿り続けていた。
