medicine：最も一般的で広い意味。「薬」全般
medication：「処方薬」や「投薬治療」という響きが強く、不可算で使われることが多い
医療現場では複数可算が普通
pill / tablet：「錠剤」という具体的な形状を指すので、常に可算名詞
