自宅から外を眺めると、
青々とした葉をたわわにつけた木々が、
風に揺れながら、そんなことを囁いているように見えました。
We often say that we live in harmony with nature.
And yet, that relationship may be shaped largely by human convenience.
We seek shade when we need it,
and cut it back when we feel threatened.
We draw closer when it suits us,
and distance ourselves when it does not—
sometimes quite literally.
In such a relationship,
can we truly say that we are living “together” with nature?
Perhaps the accumulation of these choices
will, in time, return to us in ways we cannot ignore.
As I looked out from my home,
the trees—full of fresh green leaves—
swayed gently in the wind,
as if whispering something to us.
