A free press plays a vital role in protecting democracy by scrutinizing power and ensuring that citizens can make informed decisions. I hope that objective reporting and independent investigation by international media organizations can encourage broader public discussion and stronger journalistic scrutiny within Japan.

I respectfully ask your organization to consider covering not only these important policy issues, but also the broader state of public scrutiny and democratic accountability surrounding them.
