Although these issues receive basic news coverage when major developments occur, sustained follow-up reporting, independent expert analysis, and rigorous examination of government explanations remain highly limited. Consequently, the public is deprived of the essential opportunities to fully comprehend the long-term implications of these critical decisions.
My greatest concern is that profound institutional changes may be implemented before society has had the opportunity for informed and meaningful public debate. Journalism plays its most crucial role not after policies have taken effect, but while citizens still have the opportunity to understand, discuss, and evaluate them.
I sincerely hope your organization will consider providing continued coverage of these developments. Independent international reporting can help encourage broader public discussion, strengthen accountability, and support informed democratic decision-making within Japan.

私は、海外報道機関による客観的な取材と継続的な報道が、日本国内でのさらなる報道や検証を促し、国民がより多くの情報に触れ、十分な議論が行われるきっかけになることを期待しています。
どうか、日本で現在進められている重要政策と、それらを取り巻く報道や検証の状況についても、継続的な取材・報道をご検討くださいますようお願いいたします。
