21年目に突入したプロジェクト
明後日朝顔プロジェクトは2003年に新潟県の莇平ではじまり、全国各地の地域が当プロジェクトに参加しています。
前回、こちらの記事で紹介した明後日新聞文化事業部の明後日朝顔プロジェクトについて記載します。

過去二十数年間、アーティストの日比野さんを始め、プロジェクトに関わった来た莇平の方々、先人の方々の信頼のバトンです。
新潟の莇平に朝顔の種をモチーフにした作品「タネフネ」が設置してあります。由来はタネは船の様だと。収穫した種は翌年全国各地へ送られ誰かの手に渡ります。そして芽を出し花を咲かせ、種を作る。その繰り返し。
年月を経て関わる人達は入れ替わっても、種を送り、花を咲かせるという行為は変わりません。
上野でも明後日朝顔プロジェクト始動
2024年から東京の上野で、近隣住民の方達と一緒に明後日朝顔プロジェクトが始動しました。藝大部屋を拠点に住民の皆さん、通りすがりの方、DOORメンバー、各地の明後日朝顔プロジェクトメンバーなどなど多岐に渡ります。

今年の明後日朝顔の活動は終了しましたが、来年も活動は続いていきます。明後日新聞は莇平の明後日朝顔新聞社文化事業部の窓口で一部30円で購入できます。他にも各展示でもアーカイヴを掲載しています。

私が昨年植えた朝顔一輪だけ異色の黄色い花が咲きました。明後日朝顔プロジェクトのミーティングでメンバーに聞いてみましたが判明せず…。トマトのような青臭い野菜の様な臭いがしたので、朝顔を植える際に何か別の種が混ざってしまったのかもしれません。黄色い花が咲いた後は枯れたので結局花の種類分からずでした。
