AIに褒められるその日まで：フランス語発音特訓

今日も元気にフランス語の発音と奮闘中です。

Hi there!
I’m still happily wrestling with French pronunciation every day.

Duolingo を始めたとき、私のフランス語の知識はゼロ。今も文法書や参考書は一冊も持っていません。まずはコースを完走するまでは他の教材を一切使わないって決めたんです（ドイツ語のときもそうでした）なのでいつも手探り。それが私の楽しい実験方法。

When I first started Duolingo, I knew absolutely nothing about French. I still don’t own a single grammar or reference book. I made a rule—just like I did with German—that I wouldn’t touch any other materials until I finish the entire course. That means I’m always feeling my way forward—and honestly, that’s what makes the whole thing so much fun.

そんなある日、フランス語の「リエゾン」の存在に氣づきました。
これはかなり衝撃的でした！
いまだに考えるだけで興奮してしまいそうです。

Then one day, I discovered liaison in French.
Mind-blowing!
Just thinking about it still gets me excited.

英語のリンキングやリダクション、フラッピングとはまったく違う、
「なんだかとんでもないものを知ってしまったぞ！」と思いました。このことを知らなかったから私の発音はいつも怒られていたのか、と妙に納得した瞬間でした。

It’s completely different from English linking, reduction, or flapping—
I felt like I’d stumbled onto something wild.
The moment I realized this might be why Duolingo kept on scolding my pronunciation, everything clicked.

私は英語で学ぶドイツ語とフランス語コースの経験しかありませんが、他のコースでもそんなに差はないのではないかと勝手に考えています。

I’ve only used the German and French courses from the English interface, but I’d bet the other courses are much the same.

ターゲット言語の音の「真似」の練習を、数百回・数千回と重ねることで、かなり高いレベルまで発音をマスターできるのではないかと確信しました。

After repeating each sound in the target language hundreds—sometimes thousands—of times, I’m pretty sure you can push your pronunciation to quite a high level.

それにはもちろん時間と忍耐と根性が必要です。
でも、それ以上にわくわくしてしまう夢が私にはあるんです。

Sure, it takes time, patience, and grit.
But I’ve got a dream that excites me even more.

年齢なんて関係ない。
住む場所も関係ない。
それを証明してみたい。
どこまでいけるか、自分で実験してみたいんです。

Age doesn’t matter.
Where you live doesn’t matter.
I want to prove that.
I want to see how far I can go.

私は夢を見続けます。
今よりもスラスラ、氣持ちよく
フランス語を話している自分の姿を想像しながら。

So I’ll keep dreaming—picturing myself speaking French smoothly and effortlessly.
