BBC Director-General Tim Davie to step down

本日（11月9日）、BBCのティム・デイヴィー会長は、BBCを退任する意向を発表しました。BBCニュースの最高経営責任者であるデボラ・ターネス氏も辞任しました。
Today (9 November) Tim Davie, BBC Director-General, has announced his intention to leave the BBC. CEO of BBC News Deborah Turness has also resigned.

BBC Chairman Samir Shah says: “This is a sad day for the BBC. Tim has been an outstanding Director-General for the last five years. He has propelled the BBC forward with determination, single-mindedness and foresight.

This afternoon Tim Davie sent the following note to staff:

I wanted to let you know that I have decided to leave the BBC after 20 years. This is entirely my decision, and I remain very thankful to the Chair and Board for their unswerving and unanimous support throughout my entire tenure, including during recent days.

今後数ヶ月かけて後任への円滑な引き継ぎができるよう、理事会と具体的な退職時期について調整を進めております。
I am working through exact timings with the Board to allow for an orderly transition to a successor over the coming months.
