マニラ発 ― 8月15日（金）、マニラのマラテ地区で日本人2名を殺害した事件に関与したとされるフィリピン人兄弟2名が、火曜日にマニラ検察庁に連行され、強盗と殺人の容疑で告訴された。
MANILA -- Two Filipino brothers tagged in the killing of two Japanese nationals in Malate, Manila on Friday, August 15, were brought to the Manila Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday to face complaints of robbery and murder.

マニラ警察によると、容疑者たちは日本を拠点とする「エイリアス・ボス」と呼ばれる人物に雇われ、殺害の実行に多額の金銭を支払ったとされている。
According to the Manila Police District, the suspects were allegedly hired by a certain “Alias Boss” based in Japan, who reportedly paid them a large sum to carry out the killings.

50歳と62歳の容疑者たちは、月曜日の朝、パンパンガ州ミナリンで逮捕された。
The suspects, aged 50 and 62, were arrested Monday morning in Minalin, Pampanga.

当局は、弟が銃撃犯で、兄は被害者たちのツアーガイドを務めていたと明らかにした。
Authorities revealed that the younger brother was the gunman, while the older suspect acted as a tour guide for the victims.

「彼は自ら空港まで私たちを迎えに来て、ホテルまで送ってくれ、そして再び迎えに来て、まさにこの2人の日本人が撃たれた場所まで連れて行ってくれました」とマニラ警察署の広報担当者、フィリップ・イネス少佐は語った。
“Siya mismo ‘yong sumundo dito sa airport, siya rin ‘yong naghatid sa hotel, siya rin ulit ‘yong sumundo dito para dalhin doon sa mismong lugar na ‘yon kung saan nabaril itong dalawang Japanese national,” said PMaj. Philipp Ines, spokesperson of the Manila Police District.

“Meron tayong nakuhang impormasyon na ‘yong nag-utos nito ay nasa Japan at ‘yong tawag nila si Alyas Boss. Isa sa nakuha nating information, itong dalawang ito ay pasaway sa kanilang kompanya. Di lang natin alam kung anong kompanya ang tinutukoy,” Ines added.

A staff member at a nightclub confirmed the identity of the gunman.

「発砲後、誰も介入しないと言われました。銃だったので怖くて逃げました。でも、私が逃げた場所は現場に近かったので、銃撃犯を目撃したのです」と目撃者は語った。
“No’ng pagkabaril, ang sabi sa amin, walang makikialam. Kami tumakbo na kami kasi baril ‘yan, natakot na kami. Pero ‘yong tinakbuhan ko is malapit lang sa pinangyarihan kaya namukaan ko ‘yong gunman,” said the witness.

容疑者は黙秘を続けているが、彼らの弁護士は逮捕の合法性に疑問を呈している。
While the suspects have remained silent, their lawyer questioned the legality of the arrest.

「事件は金曜日に発生し、依頼人たちは3日後の月曜日に逮捕されました。したがって、法的に見て、逮捕は違法です。PI（予備捜査）を申請し、通常の手続きで提出する必要があります」と、容疑者側の弁護士であるノリ・デ・ペドロ弁護士は述べた。
“The crime happened on a Friday and our clients were arrested three days after on a Monday. So ang legal stand namin, the arrest was illegal. Dapat PI (Preliminary Investigation) na ito. Regular filing, hindi dapat sila naaresto,” said Atty. Noli De Pedro, legal counsel for the suspects.

しかし警視庁は逮捕は法律の範囲内であると主張した。
The MPD however maintained that the arrests were within the bounds of law.

「我々の行為が正しかったか間違っていたかは検察官に判断してもらうが、我々はこれは合法であり、我々の行為は追跡捜査に基づく正しい逮捕であったと主張する」とイネス少佐は述べた。
“Hayaan natin na mag-decide ‘yong piskalya kung tama ba o hindi tama ang ating ginawa pero naninindigan kami na ito ay legal at ang ginawa natin ay tamang pag-aresto base sa hot pursuit operation,” said PMaj. Ines.

一方、観光省は今回の事件を強く非難し、犠牲者の遺族に哀悼の意を表すとともに、政府機関に徹底的な調査を行うよう求めた。
Meanwhile, the Department of Tourism strongly condemned the incident, offering condolences to the families of the victims and urging government agencies to conduct a thorough investigation.

マニラの地方政府も犠牲者の遺族に哀悼の意を表した。
The local government of Manila has also extended its condolences to the families of the victims.

「犠牲者の家族に心から同情します。マニラでまだ私たちを殺そうとしている人がいるのは悲しいことですが、正義が実現するまで私たちは何があろうと休むことはないと保証します」とフランシスコ・イスコ・モレノ・ドマゴソ市長は述べた。
“Kami’y taos pusong nakikiramay sa pamilya ng mga biktima... Nalulungkot kami na meron pa ring sumusubok sa Maynila but we guarantee you no matter what we will not rest until justice is served,” said Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.

当局は依然として3人目の共犯者の捜索を続けている。
