イスラム共和国のイラン国旗が、イーロン・マスク氏のソーシャルメディアプラットフォーム「X」から削除された。
The Islamic Republic’s Iranian flag has been scrubbed from Elon Musk’s social media platform X.

この動きは、テヘランで政権交代を求める死者を出した抗議活動が土曜日の14日目に突入する中で起きた。
The move comes as deadly protests demanding regime change in Tehran raged into a 14th day Saturday.

現在、このプラットフォームには、ライオンと太陽をあしらった旧イラン国旗が表示されている。この国旗は、1979年のイスラム革命でアヤトラ原理主義政権が権力を握るまで、イランの公式国旗として使われていた。
Now, the old Iranian national flag featuring a lion and a sun — which was the official flag of the country up until the 1979 Islamic Revolution that brought the fundamentalist regime of the Ayatollah to power — shows up on the platform.

この変更は、木曜日にソーシャルメディアユーザーがXのプロダクト責任者であるニキータ・ベア氏とCEOのイーロン・マスク氏に連絡を取り、イラン国旗の絵文字の変更を要請したことを受けて行われました。
The change came after a social media user reached out to X’s head of product, Nikita Bear, and boss Elon Musk on Thursday, asking them to change the emoji of the Iranian flag.

ベア氏は同日中に「数時間お待ちください」と返信しました。
Bear responded the same day, saying “give me a few hours.”

金曜日には、「作業中：明日中にウェブ上で公開予定です」と投稿しました。
On Friday, she wrote “In progress: Should be live sometime tomorrow on web.”

その結果、イランの公式政府アカウントの名前の横にライオンと太陽の抗議旗が表示される期間が一時的に発生しましたが、その後、Xアカウントからこの絵文字は完全に削除されました。
It led to a brief period where the Islamic Republic’s official government accounts had the lion and sun protest flag next to its name — until it removed the emoji from its X account altogether.
