73. Hannis's Awakening-Dawn of the Galactic Restoration plan

Hannis's Awakening — Dawn of the Galactic Restoration Plan
Meter’s Adventures, Part I: Leap from the Purple

Previously on Mieter’s Adventures

When Apoliana quietly ended her 81-year life, her friend and intellectual successor, Hannis Izar, was left to face a profound sense of loss.
While looking after the translation robot Mieter and his creator Orin, Hannis listened to all of Apoliana’s final words. Then he chose to take on her dangerous and grand mission — the realization of Galactic Restoration — together with them.

Apoliana’s core message to Hannis was only one:
“Humanity is, at its root, a fragile existence. Only those who confront that fragility can carve out the future.”
This awakening becomes the force that propels Hannis toward a new path.

Main Story

As the setting sun dyed the cliffs of Cape Risel in gold, Mieter approached slowly. The sea breeze carried a faint sweetness, and the sky blended purple and orange as if they were melting into each other. It was the very scenery Apoliana once described: “If the true homeland of the galaxy exists, surely it must look like this.”

“Mr. Hannis. You’ve been coming here quite often lately,”
Mieter said in his gentle electronic voice.
“This place really is special. I used to come here with Apoliana as well. If I remember correctly, wasn’t there a cave behind this cliff — the Risel Cape Cavern?”

Hannis narrowed his eyes slightly, still watching the sunset.

“…So you came, Mieter. You’re being considerate.”

His voice carried a subtle mixture of exhaustion and determination.

“This sunset is special. I’ve always felt there is some kind of clue hidden in the sinking light. When I watch the horizon like this, fragments of galactic history — erased records, concealed causality — sometimes emerge like loose threads.”

He began to speak as if tracing distant ages.

“The Galaxy’s original homeworld Orbital and Lillinas.
Lillinas and Neo-Aether.
Rick Ephorum’s Neo-Aether and Lem.
When the front and back of history turn over once, a nodal point appears, and in that moment the True Aspect flickers into view — reflected on the edge of the sinking sun.”

There was the weight of experience in his words, yet also a boyish clarity, like the curiosity of someone who still wanted to understand.

“By the way, Mieter… that line you often mutter — ‘You see it, don’t you, Watson!’
Is that from The Book of Love and Wisdom for Children?”

Mieter’s frequency wavered ever so slightly — then he gave a small laugh.

“So you recognized it. I’m a little embarrassed.
It was like a secret password between Apoliana and me.
Whenever I said, ‘As expected of the great Holmes,’ she always replied, ‘You see it, don’t you, Watson!’”

Hannis, still gazing at the glowing sky, repeated the line quietly.

“There is always a clue hidden in the setting sun.
In that fleeting moment, the truth reveals itself, Mieter.”

His profile, tinted by the afterglow, was that of someone carrying his lost mentor’s will — and stepping forward into the future.
