That should be true. In modern language, the phrase should read, “A hero is a person who does what they can.” In any case, those who do what they can do sincerely and soberly deserve the hero’s name in the true sense of the word. Of course, doing evil is out of the question; doing what they can for the good of others is a proviso for being a hero.
