大和村の新スポット！New spot in Yamato Village!

本施設は特別天然記念物“アマミノクロウサギ”の保護研究施設です。施設名の「くるぐる」はシマグチ（奄美の方言）で「黒々とした」という意味で、アマミノクロウサギの毛色と、命がぐるぐると循環するイメージを表しています。

ここでは来館者がウサギのスケールになって夜の森を冒険することができます。急に飛び出してくる車や巨大な天敵に驚き、自分より背の高い草花をかき分けてブラックライトに反応する森の生き物たちを探していきます。ウサギの視点になることでその気持ちや恐れに気付き、共感を育むきっかけとなるよう設計しています。

This is a facility for the protection and research of the Amami rabbit, a special natural monument. The name of the facility, "Kuruguru Facility," means "black" in Shimaguchi (a dialect of Kagoshima), and represents the Amami rabbit's coat color and the cycle of life.

The Amami rabbit (Pentalagus furnessi) is a rabbit in the Leporidae family of the Lagomorpha order. This species is the only member of the Amami rabbit genus.[2]
