解説・あらすじ

「海月姫」「東京タラレバ娘」など数々のヒット作を生み出してきた人気漫画家・東村アキコが自伝的作品として描き、第8回マンガ大賞および第19回文化庁メディア芸術祭マンガ部門大賞を受賞した漫画「かくかくしかじか」を実写映画化。漫画家を目指す少女と恩師である絵画教師との9年間にわたる軌跡を描く。

宮崎県に暮らす、お調子者でぐうたらな女子高生の林明子は、幼い頃から漫画が大好きで、将来は漫画家になりたいという夢を抱いている。その夢をかなえるべく美大進学を志す明子は、受験に備えて地元の絵画教室に通うことになった。そこで出会ったのが、竹刀片手に怒号を飛ばすスパルタ絵画教師の日高先生だった。何があっても、どんな状況でも、生徒たちに描くことをやめさせない日高。一方の明子は、次第に地元の宮崎では漫画家になる夢をかなえることはできないと思うようになっていき、日高とすれ違っていくが……。

A live-action film adaptation of "Kakushikajika," a manga written by popular manga artist Higashimura Akiko as an autobiography and awarded the 8th Manga Award and the Manga Division Award at the 19th Japan Media Arts Festival. The film follows the trajectory of a nine-year relationship between a girl aspiring to be a manga artist and her mentor, an art teacher.

Hayashi Akiko, a playful and lazy high school girl living in Miyazaki Prefecture, has loved manga since she was a child and dreams of becoming a manga artist one day.
