Transparency Report - January 2025
Our Approach to Safety
Thank you for using REALITY. I’m IKURA from the Community Team.
In this report, we will provide a monthly Safety Report covering trends in the number of reports and violations and updates on the Trust & Safety (T&S) team's efforts to enhance monitoring systems and develop new safety features.
Cases handled in January 2025
Compared to December, the number of reports in January increased by approximately 10%, with 1,229 resulting in penalties.
Total reports received: 25,287
Cases resulting in penalties: 2,944
For the first time in six months, violations related to sexual content and behavior became the most frequent category. Please be mindful of both streamer conduct and viewer comments during live streams. Additionally, we have identified some content that clearly crosses the line. To protect underage users, we ask for your cooperation in reporting any users engaging in such behavior.
Violations related to harassment and defamation are also on the rise. We encourage everyone to communicate respectfully and avoid language that could harm others. Additionally, for users whose behavior, while not punishable, negatively impacts the community, we highly recommend utilizing the moderation tools (streamer mods, block, report, etc) to help maintain a positive environment.
About REALITY’s Penalty System

In December 2022, we explained REALITY’s penalty system during the "REALITY Special Broadcast". Since some rules have been revised, we would now like to provide an explanation of REALITY’s penalty system for international regions as well.
※Please note that some details may differ from what was discussed in the "REALITY Special Broadcast" streamed in 2022. Thank you for your understanding.
The objectives of the Penalty System

At REALITY, we have established certain rules to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone. If a violation occurs, appropriate penalties will be applied.
What Are "Penalty Points"?
At REALITY, a "Penalty Point" system is in place based on the type of violation. When a user violates the rules, Penalty Points are assigned accordingly.
Penalty Points accumulate over time.
Once a certain threshold is exceeded, a penalty is applied.
Repeated violations will result in increasingly severe penalties.
Penalty Points and penalty history are recorded permanently.
However, if a user follows the rules for a certain period, their Penalty Points may be reduced.
Receiving the most severe penalty will result in the loss of access to REALITY.
Common Misconceptions
The number of reports does not affect the amount of Penalty Points given for a single violation.
False reports made with malicious intent will not result in Penalty Points for innocent users.
Misusing the report system disrupts proper rule enforcement, so please refrain from such actions.
Accumulation of Penalty Points

As Penalty Points accumulate, different levels of penalties may be applied:
Warning: A warning message will be displayed.
Temporary Restriction: The account will be restricted for a certain period (e.g., 72 hours).
Permanent Restriction: The account will be permanently suspended.
While creating a new account is possible, any violations with the new account will result in stricter penalties compared to regular users.
Depending on the situation, restrictions may be applied not only to the account but also to the device or individual, preventing the creation of new accounts.
This is equivalent to what users commonly refer to as a "BAN".
Summary of the Penalty System
Penalties are applied based on the accumulated Penalty Points.
However, if the rules are followed for a certain period, Penalty Points may be reduced.
The penalty system cannot be used as a tool for harassment.
Receiving the most severe penalty may result in losing the ability to create any new accounts.
The Trust & Safety (T&S) Team is continuously strengthening safety measures to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience on REALITY. Please follow the rules to protect your account and continue enjoying REALITY in a safe and fun way!
Future Efforts and Reports
Regarding the Exclusion of Repeated Offenders
In December 2024, REALITY enhanced measures to restrict the use of devices by users who repeatedly engage in severe violations.
After approximately one month of observation, we have confirmed that users who continue to engage in malicious behavior are unable to reuse REALITY, demonstrating the effectiveness of this approach for habitual offenders.
To maintain a healthy community, we will continue to monitor the situation and make necessary adjustments as needed.
Regarding the Mass Handling of Fraudulent Users
During the January event in the North American region, a significant number of fraudulent users were identified, prompting a larger-than-usual response. Due to the extensive scope of the actions taken against these users, some individuals who would not have typically been penalized were unfortunately subjected to penalties. We sincerely apologize for the delay in addressing the issues during the January event, as well as for the incorrect penalties that were applied.
To prevent similar occurrences in the future, REALITY will continue to strengthen its efforts to avoid such issues.
REALITY’s Policy on Fraudulent Activities
Previously, REALITY offered a system called “Free Points” that were easily obtainable by just entering and viewing content. This led to fraudulent activities such as the automated creation of thousands of accounts aimed at throwing all the gifts to a single account, which is forbidden by the Event Rules and Terms of Service.
In response, we shifted towards using the "Mission" system with more complex acquisition conditions and enhanced distribution of free coins, which can also be used for gacha. This change was designed to better reward all the users, with a bigger scope in where to use the rewards and avoid the fraudulent gifting situation.
However, the increase in free coin distribution around the summer of last year contributed to a significant rise in fraudulent accounts by January this year. Creating multiple accounts, collecting free coins, and donating them to oneself is considered a severe violation of REALITY's terms.
Though we have taken broad actions to address this issue, we acknowledge that the response to violating users is still insufficient. We will not overlook these actions and will continue to strengthen our approach toward fraudulent users, imposing strict penalties. We kindly ask everyone to refrain from engaging in such behavior, as it might affect your account and even end in a ban on your account or device.
Additionally, we are considering system-level measures to address the issue of "creating 30, 50, 100, or even more accounts with a single device," which has become a breeding ground for fraud. Please be aware that in this case, the specific number of accounts will not be officially announced as it can only lead to cheater trying to distort the rules in their favor, so in case of creating sub accounts, please keep it to a bare minimum.
Our goal is to create an environment where everyone can enjoy events with peace of mind. We appreciate your continued support of REALITY.
