I feel like "fuck is this?" is less about any practical application than it is about "the fuck is that supposed to be?" asked more succinctly. Cycle route marker doesn't really answer any questions on why its shaped like that.
この「何これ？」って言うのは実際の用途を聞いてるんじゃなくて「一体何の意図でこんな形に？」って言った方が分かりやすいと思う。
「自転車道の道標」っていうのは、どうしてこの形なのか？っていう疑問に対する答えに全くなってないよ。

It's called the "proud of youth" designed by a Chinese sculptor. It's apparently supposed inspire people to bring out their inner child. It gives me anxiety to look at

With only this image to go off of i thought it was about starving kids In Africa tbh. It doesn't invoke a feeling of happiness. I thought the sculpture was tired and gasping In pain. Happy that he's just really passionately laughing.

I went to Ireland (solo) for the first time just before covid. When I spent a few days in Dublin, I genuinely loved having this thing. I kept getting lost and it was a great fixed object to help me get my bearings.

I love how it could be a sperm, but it could also be a plant bursting out of a seed--if you look closely, you can see that the base has an area that parts, letting the tail sprout out.
精子みたいにも見えるし、種から発芽した植物のようにも見えるのが良いね。
よく見ると土台に割れてる部分があって、そこから尻尾が伸びてるよ
