第1973話　Sunoは歌詞の意味を理解しているのか？──意味・音・音節を比較した実

前回は、Section Tag（[Verse]や[Chorus]など）がSunoの楽曲生成にどの程度影響するのかを検証しました。

今回はさらに一歩踏み込み、

「Sunoは歌詞の意味を理解しているのか？それとも音として処理しているのか？」

をテーマに実験を行いました。

実験内容

Styleはすべて共通に固定し、Lyricsだけを変更しました。

比較したパターンは以下の7種類です。

• Pattern1：通常の英語歌詞

• Pattern2：意味は同じで語順のみ変更

• Pattern3：意味を持たない人工言語

• Pattern4：母音のみ

• Pattern5：意味のつながらないランダム単語

• Pattern6：音節（Ta・Naなど）のみ

• Pattern7：意味のある英語・人工言語・母音・音節を混在

この構成により、「意味」と「音」の影響をできるだけ切り分けて比較しました。

実験結果

Pattern1（通常英語）

王道のモダンポップとして自然に成立しました。

Pattern2（語順変更）

意味は同じで語順だけを変更しましたが、全体の印象はPattern1と大きく変わりませんでした。

文章の意味よりも、歌詞全体の音の流れや構成が重視されている可能性があります。

Pattern3（人工言語）

意味を持たない言葉でも、違和感なく楽曲として成立しました。

これは以前行った人工言語実験とも一致する結果です。

Pattern4（母音のみ）

「Aa」「Ee」など母音だけでも十分音楽として成立しました。

1曲通して聴くと好みは分かれそうですが、サビやフックとして短く使うと非常に効果的な印象でした。

Pattern5（ランダム単語）

「Window」「Galaxy」など意味のつながらない単語でも、自然な楽曲としてまとめられました。

Sunoは文章としての意味よりも、音楽素材として処理しているように感じられます。

Pattern6（音節のみ）

「Ta」「Na」などの音節だけでも違和感は少なく、Pattern4と同様にフック向きという印象でした。

Pattern7（混在）

意味のある英語、人工言語、母音、音節を混在させても、全体として自然な楽曲になりました。

個々の要素を別々に扱うというより、ひとつの音楽素材として統合しているように感じました。

今回の考察

今回の実験では、

• 意味のある歌詞

• 人工言語

• ランダム単語

• 母音のみ

• 音節のみ

のいずれも、大きく破綻することなく楽曲として成立しました。

もちろん、この結果だけで「Sunoは意味を理解していない」と結論づけることはできません。

しかし少なくとも今回の範囲では、歌詞の意味だけに依存して楽曲を生成しているわけではなく、音節・母音・子音・リズム・フレーズ配置など複数の要素を統合し、音楽として成立する方向へ最適化している可能性が高いと感じました。

今回の統合曲

最後に、今回の実験結果を反映した統合曲を制作しました。

通常の英語歌詞をベースに、

• 人工言語

• 母音のみ

• 音節のみ

• ランダム単語

を一曲の中へ自然に組み込み、「言葉は意味だけでなく、音楽そのものの素材でもある」というテーマを表現しました。

まとめ

今回の実験から見えてきたのは、Sunoは歌詞を単純な文章として扱うのではなく、「音」「リズム」「配置」「世界観」など複数の情報を統合し、楽曲全体として自然になるよう処理している可能性です。

AI音楽生成を理解するには、「どんな意味を書くか」だけでなく、「どんな音として入力されるか」という視点も重要なのかもしれません。

次回も、AI音楽生成の内部構造に少しずつ迫る実験を続けていきます。
