プライドポテト / Pride Potato

新しい仕事の役割りはマネジメント的な要素が多いので、日々いろいろなスタッフと会話をする必要がある。
My new role involves a lot of management-related responsibilities, so I need to talk with many different staff members every day.

お互いに話し合いたいテーマを持っているので、スムーズに話が進む事が多い。
Most of the time, our conversations go smoothly because we both have topics we want to discuss.

とはいえ、個々に積み上げてきた考え方や拘りもある。
That said, everyone has their own way of thinking and the values they’ve built up over time.

いつもお互いを尊重出来るようにと、『お互いのプライドポテトをふやけさせない話し合いをしましょうね！』と伝えている。
To encourage respectful discussions, I often tell them:
“Let’s make sure we don’t make each other’s Pride Potatoes soggy!”

最初はみんな笑うだけだったんだ。
At first, everyone just laughed.

けど、今は僕以外の人同士の話し合いでも、先にその言葉を言っているらしい…😅
But apparently, people have started using the phrase with each other—even when I’m not around. 😅

と、さっき知ったのでした。
I only found that out today.

ところで、このフレーズはそんなふうに生まれたよ。
By the way, that’s how the phrase was born.

フレンチフライ → プライドフライ → プライドポテト。
French fries → Pride fries → Pride Potato.

最初はただの冗談だったけど、どういうわけか、みんなその意味を理解してくれているようだよ。
It started as a silly joke, but somehow everyone seems to understand what it means.
