A Question from My Father at the End of His Life

2025年、私たち家族は、自宅で父の看取り介護をしていました。
父は83歳でした。
In 2025, my family cared for my father at home during the final stage of his life.
He was 83 years old.

最後は病院から自宅に戻り、
畳の上で、家族に囲まれて旅立ちました。
In the end, he returned home from the hospital
and passed away on tatami mats, surrounded by his family.

我が親ながら、その終わり方は、
誠に天晴れな、見事なものでした。
As his child, I can only say
his way of leaving this world was truly dignified and beautiful.

父との最後の日々の中で、私は、
長いこと失ってきた
**「私の中の父」**を、
ようやく取り戻せた気がしています。
During those final days,
I felt that I had finally regained
“the father within myself”
that I had lost for a long time.

それは、これからの人生を生きる力になってくれる――
そんな実感が、確かに残りました。
I am certain that experience
will give me strength for the rest of my life.

寝たきりの状態になり、
話すことも次第に難しくなっていった父が、
ある日、ぽつりと、こんなことを言いました。
As my father became bedridden
and speaking grew difficult,
one day he quietly said this:

「世界の始まりは、誰も知らない」
“No one knows how the world truly began.”

その言葉が、ずっと胸に残りました。
Those words stayed with me.

私は、その答えを探すように、
古事記、日本書紀を読み始めました。
As if searching for an answer,
I began reading the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki.

そこには、「世界の始まり」が、
神話というかたちで描かれているからです。
Because in these texts,
the beginning of the world is described through myth.

神話は、科学ではありません。
けれど、民族が受け継いできた
精神的な世界観を、
確かに伝えてくれます。
Myth is not science.
But it faithfully conveys
the spiritual worldview
passed down through generations.

今日は、亡父への答えを探す過程として、
AIという現代の対話者とともに、
古事記を読み解いてみたいと思います。
Today, as part of my search for an answer to my father,
I would like to explore the Kojiki
together with AI, a dialogue partner of our time.

宇宙のOSを起動する
天之御中主神という「座標」

Amenominakanushi as a “Coordinate”

日本最古の書物『古事記』。
私たちはこれを「神話」として教わってきました。
The Kojiki is Japan’s oldest written text.
We usually learn it as “mythology.”

しかし、その冒頭を精緻に読み解くと、
そこには驚くべき
**「世界の仕組み」**が記されていることに気づきます。
But when we read its opening carefully,
we discover that it describes
a remarkable structure of the world.

それは、特定の全能神による
「創造」の記録ではありません。
It is not a record of creation
by an all-powerful god.

この宇宙という巨大なシステムが、
自律的に動き出すための
**「ソースコード（Source Code）」**の記述として、
読むことができるのです。
Rather, it can be read as the source code
that allows this vast universe
to begin operating on its own.

神話は「システム・プログラミング」である
Myth as System Programming

古事記の冒頭、
目に見える世界が現れる前に現れる神々は、
物語を動かしたり、命令したりしません。
At the beginning of the Kojiki,
the gods who appear before the visible world
do not command or act within a story.

彼らは、意志主体というより、
世界が成立するための
**「前提条件」**として定義されています。
They are not agents of will,
but rather conditions
that make the world possible.

ハードウェア（大地や肉体）が現れる前に、
まずソフトウェア（論理やルール）が展開される。
Before hardware—land or bodies—appears,
software—logic and rules—is deployed first.

これは、宇宙規模のOSを立ち上げる
プログラミングのログなのです。
This is the log of programming
that boots the universe-scale OS.

天之御中主神
最初の座標軸「(0,0,0)」
Amenominakanushi
The First Coordinate “(0,0,0)”

その最初の一行目に現れるのが、
**天之御中主神（アメノミナカヌシノカミ）**です。
The very first name to appear is
Amenominakanushi in the Kojiki.

現れてすぐに姿を隠すこの神の役割は、
カオス（未定義のデータ）の中に、
最初の
**「中心座標」**を定義することにあります。
This deity appears briefly and then disappears.
Its role is to define the first central coordinate
within chaos—undefined data.

どこが中心なのかが決まらなければ、
右も左も、上も下も、存在できません。
Without a center,
there can be no left or right,
no up or down.

天之御中主神という
**「理（ことわり）」**が立つことで、
初めて万物が生成されるための
フィールドが確定するのです。
By establishing this principle,
the field in which all things can emerge
is finally set.

「なぜ、ここにいるのか？」という究極の問い
“Why Are You Here?” — The Ultimate Question

最近、あるオーディション番組
『No No Girls』が大きな話題を呼びました。
Recently, an audition program called
No No Girls gained widespread attention.

「ただ、あなたの声と人生を見せてください」
Its message was simple:
“Just show us your voice and your life.”

そのプロジェクトの中で、
プロデューサーのちゃんみなさんは、
挑戦者一人ひとりに、
繰り返し問いかけていました。
The producer, Chanmina,
repeatedly asked each participant:

なぜ、ここに来たのか。
どういう人になりたいのか。
Why did you come here?
Who do you want to become?

それは、単なる技術や才能の問いではありません。
These were not questions about skill or talent.

その人が抱えてきた
過去と、
描こうとする
未来。
Their past, and the future they envision.

その二つを結ぶと、
一本の線が見えてきます。
When those two points connect,
a single line appears.

「今、この場所」に、
どのような在り方で立っているのか。
How are you standing
here and now?

それを問う時間だったのだと思います。
That, I believe, was the true question.

そして私は思いました。
And I realized something.

この一本の「線」こそが、
天之御中主神（アメノミナカヌシのカミ）
の坐すところの正中線なのではないか、と。
This single line is the central axis
where Amenominakanushi resides.

その正中線の上に、自分が立つこと。
その正中線と、自分の軸を一致させること。
Standing on that axis.
Aligning it with one’s own core.

それが、
自分が自分になるための、
唯一の道なのかもしれない。
This may be the only path
to truly becoming oneself.

「どう動くか」ではなく
「どう在れば、生成が始まるか」
Not “How to Act,”
but “How to Be”

これは、自分というシステムの
**「中心軸」**を、
自覚しているかどうかの確認です。
This is a check of whether
we are aware of our own central axis.

外から何かを足すのではなく、
もともと備わっている座標を、
自覚的に起動できているか。
Not adding something from outside,
but consciously activating
what is already there.

スキルや知識という
「アプリケーション」を走らせる前に、
Before running applications
like skills or knowledge,

「私は、ここに、この理で在る」
“I am here, standing by this principle.”

その座標が立っているかどうかが、
何よりも重要になります。
That is what matters most.

その軸とスキル向上の両輪をコツコツと強化していくことの大切さを、ちゃんみなさんは、繰り返し伝えてくださっているようでした。
Chanmina seemed to consistently emphasize the importance of steadily strengthening both her core and skill improvement.

「どう動くか」ではなく、
「どう在れば、生成が始まるか」。
Not “how to act,”
but “how to be, so creation begins naturally.”

この宇宙で最も古いソースコードは、
いつでも、あなたの中で、
静かに起動を待っています。
The oldest source code of the universe
is always quietly waiting
to be activated within you.
