Today, I want to share a fascinating topic that changes how we might normally think about lions.
We recently discussed an article about the "desert lions" in Namibia. What makes them so special? They live along the Skeleton Coast, right next to the Atlantic Ocean.
Lions are "carnivores," and we usually picture them on the savanna, hunting land mammals like zebras and wildebeest. However, the lions in the Namib Desert faced a huge problem: their usual prey became scarce due to drought and a harsh environment.
To survive, these lions did something incredible. They adapted. They moved to the coast and learned to hunt an entirely new type of prey: Cape fur seals. They are now known as the world's only "maritime lions."
