「ビスケット」という名のこだわり

図書館で素敵な本を見つけました

その名も『英国流 ビスケット図鑑』

ページをめくってみると

読み始めてまだ２ページ目ですが
既にイギリス過ぎて眩暈がしそう…

紅茶のおともか
ビスケットのおともが紅茶か

なお これを決して「クッキー」と呼んではいけません

たぶんそこから戦争が始まります

I found a wonderful book at the library.

Its title is The British Guide to Biscuits.
(The original edition was published as Nicey and Wifey's Nice Cup of Tea and a Sit Down.)

As I turned the first few pages, I came across this line:

"Finding the perfect biscuit for any given moment is both a science and an art."

I'm only on page two,
and already the Britishness of it all is making me dizzy...

Is a biscuit meant to accompany tea,
or is tea meant to accompany a biscuit?

The philosophy begins right on the cover.

And whatever you do,
don't call it a "cookie".

That's probably where the war begins.
