A gentle “Good morning” to start the day ☀️ — bringing back warm memories and the image of my mother.

Good morning!
I’m Yuu, a full-time working mom of two kids☺️❤️

⭐️ A Morning That Starts with a Gentle “Good Morning”

This morning, when I opened my eyes, I saw my children looking at me.

As our eyes met, they both softly said, “Good morning,” with the sweetest expressions.

It felt like they were trying not to wake me, but still wanted to be near me—quietly playing close by.

That small “good morning” carried such a strong feeling of care.

Lately, I feel like my kids are changing a little.

Among the tears and tantrums of their younger days, I see a growing sense of empathy.

Though I can’t always give them my full attention, moments like these make me feel that my love is reaching them.

⭐️ A Morning Without an Alarm

Today, I woke up naturally without setting an alarm.

It was a bit later than usual, but it felt like a special kind of morning.

As I stayed under the covers for a while, I heard birds chirping.

Even though we live in Tokyo, there’s a small wooded area behind our house, and we often hear birds and the sound of trees swaying.

Amid the noise of cars and people, these natural sounds slow down time just a little.

It’s one of the reasons I love this house.

⭐️ Mornings in the Countryside and the Rooster’s Call

Waking up to nature’s sounds is also a nostalgic memory.

I grew up in the countryside, often waking to the sound of roosters.

When I tell my city friends, they’re always surprised—but back then, it was common for neighbors to keep chickens for eggs.

One of my childhood friends also had many chickens, and I’d always go home with fresh eggs.

That “cock-a-doodle-doo” wasn’t cute like in cartoons—it was rough, strong, and a bit awkward.

Honestly, I sometimes found it annoying!

Roosters are said to crow about two hours before sunrise… which, let’s face it, is way too early!

Still, to me, “a day that starts wrapped in the sounds of nature and the voices of loved ones” was a normal, gentle kind of morning.

⭐️ Remembering My Mother

I’m not a morning person. I rely on my alarm clock to wake up every day.

The cold, mechanical sound yanks me out of bed, and every morning feels like a race against time.
After a rushed start, I jump onto a packed train and head to work.

But today, in that rare quiet moment, I felt grateful.
I thought of my mom—she was always rushing around in the mornings too.

We lived in a two-generation household, and every morning she was busy: hanging laundry, cooking rice, preparing breakfast for us, and packing lunchboxes for my dad and grandfather.

As a child, I watched her do it all without realizing how hard it must’ve been.

Now that I’m a mother myself, I finally understand—and respect her more than ever.

Doing something “every single day” is no easy feat.

And I think I’m only now starting to truly grasp that.

So today, I’ll try not to rush.

There’s a lot to do, but I’ll take things one step at a time.

When I feel like I’m in a hurry, I’ll take a deep breath and try to slow down—just a little.

Thank you so much for reading to the end.

I would be so happy if you could leave a comment! Of course, English is totally fine! ❤️
