This is the first entry of the Boundary Forestry Field Log, a record of ongoing field work that will be published regularly from now on.
現場作業は日々変化します。
Field work changes every day.
すべてを綺麗な文章としてまとめようとすると、記録そのものが続かなくなるため、今後は毎週金曜日を締め日として、作業内容・現場条件・使用機材・所感などを簡潔にまとめていきます。
If I try to turn every detail into a polished article, the documentation itself will not continue. For that reason, I plan to close the weekly record every Friday and publish a simple weekly log covering the work completed, site conditions, tools used, and field notes.
この記録は、単なる作業日報ではありません。
This is not just a daily work report.
北海道・ニセコ周辺の私有林、観光地周辺の森林、未整備地、作業道、支障木処理などの現場を通じて、日本の小規模森林管理の実態を記録するものです。
Through small-scale forestry work around Niseko and Hokkaido — including private forest management, forest trail clearing, obstructing tree removal, unmanaged land, and forest areas near tourism zones — this log aims to document the real conditions of small-scale forest management in Japan.
将来的には、アメリカでのクラウドファンディング、次回渡航時の現地説明資料、森林管理・地域再生プロジェクトの基礎資料として活用することを目的としています。
In the future, these records may be used as source material for crowdfunding in the United States, field presentations during my next visit to Oregon, and broader projects related to forest stewardship and regional regeneration.

作業メモ / Field Notes：
本日は準備作業等もあり、丸一日の作業時間は確保できませんでした。
Due to preparation work, a full working day was not available.
実作業時間は約6時間程度です。
The actual field work time was approximately six hours.
作業道の伐開を中心に、大径木7本の伐倒および玉切りを実施しました。
The main work consisted of clearing a forest work trail, felling seven large-diameter trees, and bucking logs.
あわせて、作業導線上の支障木についても処理を行いました。
Additional obstructing trees along the work route were also removed.
現場は平地ではありますが、湿地条件を含むため、足元や作業導線に注意しながら作業を進めました。
Although the site was generally flat, wet ground conditions required careful movement and route planning.
現時点では、小さな現場記録の積み重ねです。
At this stage, these are small field notes.
しかし、これらのログを通じて、低コスト・低インパクト・現場主導型の森林管理の可能性を示していきたいと考えています。
However, by accumulating them over time, I hope to show the potential of low-cost, low-impact, field-led forest management.
今後は、1週間ごとに作業記録をまとめ、日英併記で公開していきます。
From now on, I will summarize the field records every week and publish them in both Japanese and English.
