Frequently Asked Questions

• What are your hours?

Normal operating hours are Mon-Sat, 10 AM - 6 PM. However, all meetings are by appointment only. As I frequently leave the shop for errands, jobs, or personal reasons, just showing up a good way to find a locked door and nobody to open it. Please contact me first to set up a time to visit the shop. You can message me on my Facebook page, or just call or text me directly.

• What do you work on?

I can work on most arcade and pinball equipment, from any era. I can also work on, to a limited extent: crane/claw machines, change machines, and video

poker-style 8-liners. I do NOT work on slot machines, jukeboxes, Arcade1ups or most other home-use only equipment, or vending machines.

• How can I have my machine(s) added to the queue for repair?

The repair queue for all equipment is currently closed. I have a backlog that will last me a year at this point. I am unable to add any more to it. However, this does not pertain to any machine that was previously purchased directly from me. If you bought a machine from me, even after warranty has ended, I will make time to repair it. Buy with confidence. If you have a machine you would like repaired that was not purchased directly from me, please contact me. I cannot do on-site repairs, but if you are able to bring it to me at the shop, I can try and fit it in when I'm able to. Be warned, it may be months before I get to that point.

• Do you buy machines?

I sometimes purchase arcade and pinball machines, particularly non-working projects. I also can take them in as credit towards a purchase. Whether or not I can do so depends on many factors; as does what I can offer you for them. If you have something you'd like to sell, please contact me with a description of the machine(s), description of any issues it/they may be having (as best you can, at least), as well as pictures from all angles and a ballpark of what you are looking to get for it/them. I do NOT purchase any Arcade1ups.

• Do you offer refunds?

No. If you are having issues with your machine while under warranty, we'll get it working again and reset the time on your warranty. Under extreme cases, I may swap your machine for another and we can figure out how to handle any difference plus or minus in value. I do not, however, under any circumstance accept returns and give full refunds.

• Do you accept trades?

At my discretion, I sometimes accept other arcade or pinball machines as credit towards a purchase. I ONLY accept equipment that I would normally sell. I do not want your go-kart, your AR-15, your pitbull puppy, your car parts, or your PS4.

• What payment methods do you accept?

I accept cash, business checks, PayPal, Zelle, and Venmo. If you would like to pay by credit card, we can do so through PayPal or one of the other services. I do not accept Cashapp or any other payment service. Personal checks are only accepted for repeat customers, or those willing to wait until the check clears before receiving the equipment. Tax is added to all methods, and if you pay by credit card through PayPal or another service, you may be subject to additional fees.

• What is your warranty?

Standard warranty is 30 days, 100% parts and labor, starting from day of purchase unless noted otherwise. If your machine is located more than 25 miles from my shop, you will be responsible for mileage fees, but nothing else. There are a few instances that can void a warranty, but those are very rare and a list of them is included with every purchase. Extended warranties of 120 days are also available for $50 per machine. Repair services on your equipment are also available after your warranty period ends.

• What is your delivery radius, and how much does it cost?

The delivery radius is 200 miles from the address of my shop. If you are slightly outside of that radius, we can most likely still make it work. I'll deliver to Odessa/Midland, Lubbock, Abilene, Van Horn, San Angelo, and everything in between. I also deliver to some parts of eastern New Mexico. If it's within a 3 hour drive, I'll certainly do it. Farther than that is on a case-by-case basis. Price is approximately $1.25 per mile, one way. For example, a delivery to Lubbock usually would be around $150. You are also welcome to pick equipment up yourself to save on the costs. I'll help you load. Delivery fees are typically reduced or waived for repeat customers.

• What is your experience?

My first job was in a small arcade in Abilene in 2003. Since then I have worked for Cinemark, Mr. Gatti's, Namco, and Chuck E. Cheese's. I've helped start and maintain several new local arcades in the past few years. I started what would become this business out of my garage in March of 2013, and quit my day job and took it full time in June of 2016. I moved out of my garage and into a shop in late 2019. Since April of 2003, working on arcade/pinball equipment is mostly all I've done.

• How can I make a purchase, or view a product in person?

Contact me either by phone/text or Facebook, and we'll set it up. You can choose your payment method and make an appointment for pickup or delivery. Please note that a machine is not considered sold until at least a deposit is made, and pickup/delivery will not occur until payment is made in full. For

first-time customers, especially those out of town, a deposit will have to made first before a payment would be accepted on delivery. I've been no-called no-showed before. To see a machine in person before purchasing, please make an appointment to come to the shop and try before you buy.

• Do you offer discounts for repeat customers or bulk purchases?

I do. I typically waive or reduce delivery fees, or offer lower prices for multiple machines or repeat customers. Wanna buy 2 or 3? Let's make a deal. Sorry, I do not offer discounts for students, military, first responders, etc.

• Are you hiring?

I'm a one-man operation, and do not see that changing regardless of backlog. So, no.

• How can I see what you're working on now, or what will be available for sale soon?

The easiest way to stay up-to-date on current and future projects is to follow me on TikTok under the name @Prime_Arcade. I post several videos weekly on the repair jobs I do, deliveries and pickups I make, and just other odd things that happen while I'm working. If you want to know what machines I loaded onto my truck and brought back to repair and sell, that is the first place you are going to see them.

• Can you help me put a machine in my business?

Yes, and no. If you want to purchase a machine and run it coin-operated on your location in order to make money, I can help you with that. I can set it up to take quarters, tokens, and/or bills. I can help you with locks and keys. I can help direct you towards the permits and tax stamps you need from the State

Comptroller. I cannot, however, put one of my machines in your business and split the costs. I am not an operator.

• Do you rent equipment?

I do not, nor do I know anyone who does locally.

• What do you charge for services?

The short answer is: $50 for diagnosis, and $75 per hour for labor, plus the cost of parts and any mileage. That's the rate for on-site work. I don't typically break it down that way for repairs in the shop. I will usually give an estimate and do my best to stick to that amount. Unless I find more issues than originally expected, the amount I quote will be very close to the amount you pay. If something unexpected occurs, I will contact you before continuing.

• Do you ship outside of your delivery radius?

If you would like a machine shipped to you by a third-party, I can work with you. I do have some suggestions for who to use if you decide to go that route. It must be a white-glove delivery service that will do all the work when picking it up, such as prepping, wrapping, palleting, etc. I will do my best to prepare the machine internally for transport, and give recommendations for what to do on arrival. However, there are no warranties given for any equipment purchased this way. Once it is picked up, it is quite literally out of my hands and you receive it as-is.
