U.S. solar module production reaches historic 100 GW landmark
The United States crossed 100 GW of cumulative solar PV module production during Q2 2026, according to a new bottom-up factory-level analysis by Terawatt PV Research going back to the early 1970âs. Almost two-fifths of all module production can be attributed to First Solar – a reflection of the company’s unique role in U.S. manufacturing dating back more than 20 years.

Symmetry-breaking molecular strategy pushes inverted perovskite solar cell efficiency to 26.32%
Researchers used symmetry-breaking co-assembly to improve SAM coverage and interface quality in inverted perovskite solar cells, achieving a 26.32% efficiency and a certified result of 25.67%. An encapsulated device retained 93% of its initial efficiency after 1,150 hours of maximum power point operation.
Solar equipment and service providers form coalition to lower costs for regional installers
A coalition of solar finance, hardware, and software providers called the Strong Tail Solar Alliance aims to help U.S. installers reduce costs, keeping system ownership competitive after the 2025 repeal of the Section 25D tax credit.
Benchmarking ES Foundry in a dynamic and diversified U.S. cell production landscape
ES Foundry leads U.S. cell manufacturing momentum by successfully retrofitting a South Carolina facility to scale PERC production toward 3 GW, underscoring the vital shift from simple module assembly to building a resilient domestic solar supply chain.

Seeing yield loss before it happens: Inline photoluminescence inspection from ingot to tandem
As TOPCon cell efficiencies push past 25% and process windows narrow, the cheapest defect to fix is the one
caught earliest. TTVISION Technologies explains how end-to-end photoluminescence (PL) inspection turns
invisible electrical defects into actionable production data â protecting yield, efficiency and cost at every
stage from crystal ingot to finished cell, and preparing manufacturers for the coming perovskiteâsilicon
tandem era.
