We develop infrared technology that makes reliable chemical analysis simple – from the research lab to the pharmacy and industry.
WiredSense is a German manufacturer of infrared detectors and compact MIR/FTIR spectrometers – including the software behind them. Our detectors are used in research laboratories worldwide, and our spectrometers serve pharmacies, analytical laboratories and industrial partners. Our team of physicists, chemists, pharmacists and engineers develops, produces and supports every system in-house – from the detector and optics to the electronics, the analysis software and the spectral reference databases. Our goal is simple: precise infrared analysis that anyone can perform, without compromise on quality.
Our Story
WiredSense was founded in 2018 by scientists with a background in research and IT. What started as a research project has grown into a company with its own series production and customers in research, pharmacy and industry worldwide.
2018
Foundation of WiredSense and launch of our first infrared detector, the pyroelectric detector MPY-01.
2019
Launch of the MPY-RS, our second pyroelectric detector.
2020
Launch of the SPY – our detector portfolio is now used by research laboratories worldwide.
2023
Investment and growth. A new investment allows us to grow our team and bring our optical technology for easy material analysis from prototype to market.
Launch of Sweeb. We present Sweeb, our MIR spectrometer for starting material testing in pharmacies, at expopharm in Düsseldorf, the European trade fair for the pharmacy market.
2024
The first Sweeb is delivered to a pharmacy.
2025
Start of series production and distribution partnership with WEPA Apothekenbedarf. Sweeb is now available to pharmacies as the apotec® Sweeb MIR spectrometer.
2026
Launch of SweebIR, our compact FTIR spectrometer for analytical and quality control laboratories.
What We Stand For
Quality you can verify
Every detector and every instrument is tested before delivery. Where our customers need it – for example in pharmaceutical quality control – our systems meet the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia, and our reference spectra are recorded under GLP principles with documentation open to our customers.
Transparency
Measured spectra are displayed unchanged, prices are published openly, and our customers always know what they get – no hidden costs, no black boxes.
Made and supported by us
Development, production, software and service come from one team. When you call us, you speak to the people who built your instrument.
Innovation with a purpose
Our background in research keeps us at the frontier of technology – but we only build what solves real problems in our customers' daily work.
Working With Us
Beyond our own products, we develop and manufacture customised FTIR solutions for industrial partners – from adapted optics to complete OEM systems. For reasons of confidentiality, we do not name these partners; we are happy to discuss references in a personal conversation.
