Overview
[change | change source]In LittleBigPlanet, the player controls a character called a "Sackperson". The Sackperson can walk, jump, and grab some objects in the game. A Sackperson can wear many kinds of outfits, by choosing a costume piece for each part of their body from the Popit Menu. The Popit Menu is a menu that opens upon pressing the Square button. It also lets players use items called Stickers and Decorations, which are pictures that can be placed in any part the game.
One main part of the game is Story Mode, which is a set of levels that are played like a platformer video game. The player must use their Sackperson's abilities, and the to navigate around objects in the levels, to solve puzzles and reach the end of the levels. Throughout these levels, there are "Prize Bubbles" that give players new costume parts, stickers, decorations, and other objects to use from the Popit Menu.
The other main part of LittleBigPlanet is My Moon, which lets players use the objects they found in Story Mode to make their own levels. In later games of the series, these can be used to make games of many different genres. Players can post their levels online, so that other players can play them. Players can post comments in the pages for other players' levels.
LittleBigPlanet has many sets of downloadable content, which can give players more outfits, stickers, decorations, objects, and tools. Some downloaded kits have new levels to play, which have even more prizes for players to get. These prizes can also be used to make levels.
