It's all comics this week! I'm sure you are shocked.
What I Just Finished Reading
Iron Age: I have a big list of comics I should read to write my Big Bang. This is not one of them. This is the one where Tony ends up timetraveling through his own past and is basically the story of how he epically fails at life. Which is always a good Tony Stark story. Seriously, he gets thrown into the past and at the end of issue #1 is sitting in an alley next to an actual dumpster sobbing mostly-naked in the rain because in the future his friends are all going to die! A good Tony Stark story! (Good Tony Stark stories include two of the three elements of Tony (a) naked, (b) crying, and (c) in the rain.) This is how you know the writer has nailed the essence of the character! (And then none of his friends in the past believe him because this is that time when tried to date Jan and fell off the wagon and gave Rhodey the armor! Nooooooo. And then he hits on himself.) It's great. I might need to get myself a paper copy of this.

Captain America and the Mighty Avengers #9: Wrapping up the end of 616, the Mighty Avengers face the 616/1610 incursion. It's-- well, okay, it's touching, what else did you want? I'm gonna miss this comic. Possibly I should go back and read the previous volumes. Er, volume. I already read v1, the one that was simultaneous with New Avengers.
Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps #1: I have never actually read any version of Carol's solo comics so why not start here? This was awesome. I love the general aesthetic and am looking forward to more of them investigating the stars. Such as they are. Were. May or may not be. Whatever.
Secret Wars 2099 #2: Still weird. Still very very weird.
Secret Wars Journal #2: I have no idea what's going on here... but Daredevil's a chef?
Ultimate End #2: Absolutely and utterly worth it for 616 Tony getting Ults Tony to stop drinking. Tony Tony Tony yes yes yes. Talking about being futurists! This is also making me really excited about Bendis' upcoming Iron Man run. I bet they're probably going to have to fight each other, because comics, which is sad, because they should totally just make out. (Also, poor Hawkeye.) I really couldn't care less about the Hulk, but OMG issue #3 is going to have Ults Steve. Ults Steeeeeeve. My precious asshole Cap. Come back. Come back to life. Please. (Look, I didn't think I was going to like Ults either. I have no idea what happened to me.)
