June 19, 2026: Reader Tips

Here’s an alternate version of Fanfare for the Common Man, performed by ‘Asia’ in Tokyo in 2007.

Bonus: Here’s a beautiful rendition of the American National Anthem by a little girl in Los Angeles. It got me wondering if something like this could ever occur in Canuckistan, given that all pride about Canada has been repeatedly & deliberately discouraged by Trudope and the Lieberals.

Your best tips of late are always appreciated!

Welcome To The Fentanyl Capital Of Canada

The FIFA Vancouver tourism website, funded by the federal government & the City of Vancouver is teaching foreign visitors how to consume illegal drugs.

The Thing That Never Happens

NY Post;

The alleged “ringleader” of the explosive drone attack plot against the UFC event at the White House is an illegal immigrant from Mexico who was granted Dreamer status by the Obama administration and allowed to stay in the country, Homeland Security said Thursday.

Abraham Alvarez, 31, came to the US as a child and failed to leave the country when his B2 visa expired in 2001, but was granted deportation relief under the Obama administration through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

He was arrested in an old church in the small town of Western, Nebraska, on June 14, which he intended to use as a “safe zone” for himself and his alleged co-conspirators […]

The plotters, who were arrested in Ohio, Missouri and California, allegedly wanted to attack the UFC Freedom 250 event with explosive-laden drones and then pick off fleeing members of the crowd with a team of snipers.

Authorities said Alvarez was responsible for planning, organizing and directing the coordinated attack, which was thwarted by the FBI and local authorities.

O, Sweet Saint Of San Andreas

Hear my prayer.

It seems impossible — or just too revolting — to keep up with the financial hanky-panky of California Gov. Gavin Newsom and First Partner (gag) Jennifer Siebel Newsom. But thanks to a couple of investigative reporters with stronger stomachs than I have, let’s see if I can’t put everything you need to know into one easily digestible column.

I love it when other people do my dirty work for me, so let’s get started.

You Didn’t Build That

Somebody else made that happen.

The Obama Presidential Center was billed as a lasting legacy to former President Barack Obama, and its construction was touted as an ambitious model built with aggressive goals for minority-owned and local businesses.

But now, some of the very subcontractors who helped build the 19.3-acre campus on Chicago’s South Side say they are facing financial ruin as they race to recover millions of dollars they claim remain unpaid ahead of the center’s grand opening Friday. Overall construction costs were reported to be $830 million in 2021, and have likely climbed past the $1 billion mark.

A Fox News Digital investigation identified multiple construction firms claiming losses ranging from hundreds of thousands of dollars to tens of millions. The allegations cut against one of the Center’s defining goals: helping minority-owned businesses and local contractors grow through one of Chicago’s highest-profile construction projects. Several of the complaints reviewed by Fox News Digital come from firms that were supposed to benefit from that mission.

“Today, the FTC filed a lawsuit against WPATH …”

Via Billboard Chris;

The FTC, along with Alaska, Iowa, Nebraska, and Texas, have filed a lawsuit against the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), alleging the organization has provided the means for medical providers to make false and unsubstantiated claims to parents in order to sell pediatric medical transition services.

WPATH, an association of clinicians who profit from pediatric medical transition services, recommended medical interventions, including drugs and surgery, for children and adolescents who expressed dissatisfaction with or distress about their sex traits. In their complaint, the FTC and its state partners allege that these recommendations misled parents and children about the medical consensus and medical necessity, as well as the safety and effectiveness, of such services, in violation of the FTC Act.

“Today, the FTC filed a lawsuit against WPATH alleging that the organization made false and unsubstantiated claims regarding the necessity, effectiveness and safety of puberty blockers, hormones and sex-change surgeries,” said Chairman Andrew N. Ferguson.

I, For One, Welcome Our New Self-Driving Overlords

Via Instapundit; OpenAI’s financials leaked, revealing $21 billion in losses against $13 billion in revenue.

“Is there a path to profitability? Maybe. OpenAI’s two biggest expenses are R&D and marketing. Budget cuts there, coupled with an ability to raise prices or win new sources of revenue, could see the company move into the black over time. Cutting R&D would be the most difficult part of that, given that AI companies can only hold onto their customers by generating the best-performing models.”

Ed Zitron was the leakee., with followup commentary here.

You know, people like to talk about the costs to taxpayers from abandoned wells. Nobody’s talking about the costs of abandoned data centers.

Keir Starmer’s Britain

Where the foxes caper unmolested, the government packs your school lunch and they was turnin’ their lives around.

Independent MP Rupert Lowe unveiled a harrowing 219-page independent report Tuesday detailing the systematic sexual exploitation of at least 250,000 young—mostly white—British girls by predominantly Pakistani Muslim grooming gangs since the 1950s.

In a video on X, Lowe described the crimes as “pure, driven, unfettered evil.” […]

The survivor-led Rape Gang Inquiry, funded by over 20,000 public donations, compiles chilling testimonies from victims, whistleblowers, and experts. It shows documentation of coordinated networks that have been operating in at least 149 local authority districts—which equals nearly 40% of the UK—involving drugging, gang rape, trafficking, torture, blackmail via recordings, and forced pregnancies.

The inquiry says perpetrators, overwhelmingly men of Muslim (primarily Pakistani) heritage, exploited vulnerabilities in care homes and schools with complicity from police, social services, the National Health Services, and politicians fearing racism accusations. It highlights cultural and religious factors, including interpretations of Islamic doctrine enabling enmity toward non-Muslims, and criticizes post-war immigration policies for enabling the scandal.

A Restaurant Review, The Progressive Way

In which, Ms Lily Kaplan bravely mouths the conceits of her peers and educators.

And so, not knowing or caring, Ms Kaplan felt entitled to smear a local business, for likes and online clout, with a pre-emptively “unfriendly review,” in which she somehow associates the selling of tacos and carrot cake with “racism, misogyny and paedophilia,” and while describing the opening of a restaurant by two white men as representing “centuries of patriarchy,” and “such a bummer.”

As you might imagine, she’s a real charmer.
