There’s a lot more “mocktails” being offered days and even whole bars that are opening up without serving alcohol. Does that sound appealing to you?

Do I need to be totally 100% sober to join/attend?

Not at all! The purpose of the group and our Sober Betties events is just to create curated experiences where alcohol isn’t front and center. So many times, people think that the drink is essential to the night going well, but we’re here to prove the opposite!

Just be respectful and don’t “pregame” our events. Understand that everyone is coming in with a different experience with alcohol and some may not want to share their “sober story,” so please be use smart judgement when chatting with other Betties. Good vibes only.

Do I need to pay to join or attend?

Not if you don’t want to. Our Facebook Group (The Shirley Temple Society) is completely free and open to Sober Betties around the globe. There is also a Sober Betties Discord Server and you can get an invite link on request.

Our public events may have a small cover to offset costs and pay our vendors what they’re worth and there will be beverages and merchandise available for purchase. There may also be additional ticketed formal events, sales or fundraisers throughout the year to support our cause, but paid memberships are optional (but awesome because of all of the perks you get)! These events will always have clearly marked prices before you RSVP.

Is it just for girls/women?

Not at all! Again, our marketing is directed towards women since that’s where the origin of this retro photography style came from, but all genders are welcome at our events.

If you want to play dress-up with us and meet some really unique people – join us! We love our Sober “Buddies” too!

What am I supposed to wear?

This is important, we want you to DRESS UP! We mean it: pin-up, rockabilly, retro goddess vibes. You might not have a historically-accurate vintage costume, but you can still find way to dress up to feel confident and badass! Please, no lingerie.

Can I sell my items or advertise at your evets?

YES! We just want to make sure that your goods or services somehow connect back to our themes of: sobriety, female empowerment, healthy living, and/or vintage pin-up style. Have an idea that you’re not sure will make sense? Let’s chat through how we could collaborate.
