Whenever I start Ace Combat 0, it plays a loud, constant popping noise (like the guy in this reddit thread) that covers the rest of the audio.

I thought it could be an issue with the Nvidia audio driver so I unplugged the headphone from my monitor and plugged it to the input on the back of my PC but switching to the realtek driver doesn't fix it either. This happens without headphones also. Has anyone encountered this issue and knows how to fix it?
